HIS BANNER OVER ME IS LOVE
Read: (Song of Solomon 2:1-4)
“We should never have come into the banqueting-house, never have been acquainted with spiritual pleasures, if Christ had not brought us, by opening for us a new and living way and opening in us a new and living fountain. How she was entertained: His banner over me was love; he brought me in with a banner displayed over my head, not as one he triumphed over, but as one he triumphed in, and whom he always caused to triumph with him and in him”.
1. Love is a Choice not a feeling. Read (John 3:16)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
a. (whosoever believes in Him) we have to choose to believe and then we will receive this unconditional Love through Jesus (Grace) which is a free gift.
b. Read (John 15:1-17)
2. God’s love will change things. Read (John Chapter 14 whole chapter)
a. (verse 23) if you let Him, He will take your house and turn it into a home
He will take your mess and turn it into a message
He will take your poverty and turn it into riches
He will take your marriage and turn it into days of heaven on earth
HIS BANNER OVER YOU IS LOVE
3. We have to keep ourselves in His Love (Jude 1:20-25)
a. His love is a blanket that covers all your sin! (1 Peter 4:8)
b. Remember those old heating blankets years ago? Let the love of God consume you, let Him be the one you turn too, when everything is falling apart.
CONCLUSION
WHAT IS GOING TO MAKE ME A BETTER MINISTER, HUSBAND, FATHER, EMPLOYEE? KNOWING THAT THE FATHER LOVES ME, JUST AS HE DOES JESUS
